Transactions
The Transactions page is your central view of all financial activity across every bank account. Search, filter, and categorize transactions to understand your spending.Viewing Transactions
Navigate to Transactions to see all your transactions in a sortable table. Each transaction shows:- Date — when the transaction occurred
- Description — the bank’s transaction description
- Amount — positive for credits (income), negative for debits (expenses)
- Balance — running balance after the transaction (when available)
- Category — the assigned category
- Bank / Account — which bank account the transaction belongs to
Searching and Filtering
Use the filter bar at the top of the page to narrow down transactions:| Filter | Options |

Categories
OpenFinance uses the following transaction categories:| Category | Description |
|---|---|
| Expense | Business expenses — supplies, services, rent, utilities |
| Income | Revenue, sales, customer payments |
| Owner Pay | Withdrawals or payments to the business owner |
| Internal Transfer | Transfers between your own accounts |
| Shareholder Loan | Owner lending money to the company |
| Uncategorized | Transactions that have not been categorized yet |
AI Categorization
When you process a bank statement, transactions are automatically categorized by the AI. You can also trigger batch re-categorization from the Transactions page.Manual Categorization
Click on any transaction to change its category. You can also select multiple transactions and apply a category in bulk.Sorting
Click on any column header to sort by that field. Click again to reverse the sort order. You can sort by:- Date
- Description
- Amount
- Balance
- Category
Transaction Types
Every transaction has a type:- Credit — money coming in (positive amount)
- Debit — money going out (negative amount)
